Ch.1 of Pt.1 of The Red Door
Ch.1 of Part 1 of "The Red Door"
the door stands slightly ajar
brightness spills onto the floor onto the landing
down the stairs, down the stairs, to the bottom
to the bottom where he stands, towering
like a giant in my doll's house
darkness diffuses the light - it dominates purely by mass
and that suffocating pressure, like breathing in ice
my heart stops but it's racing all the same
did i make a sound? does he know i'm here?
down the stairs, down, down, the brightness flows like a waterfall
in all it's splendor it reminds me of goodness, of warmth and love
strong in the face of all evil, unyielding to the forces of it's destruct
